HI is there any linux sound driver for SIS 7012 sound card? I have no sound in suse 7.2. ____________________________________ http://www.pobox.sk/ - profesionalny e-mail zadarmo
That's an interesting questing, since I have the same problem in SuSE 7.3. According to SiS, the answer lies with Realtek, since SiS uses the codec Realtek alc100p... Realtek does provide a linux driver for that codec on their webpage. Problem is, I'm not that much of a linux expert, so I haven't gotten it to work yet... Somebody told me that this codec is already present in alsa as ac97_codec, but even though modprobe loads that just fine, I have no sound still... ----- Original Message ----- From: "Milan Chreno" <warcraft@pobox.sk> To: <suse-multimedia-e@lists2.suse.com> Sent: Monday, January 28, 2002 8:58 PM Subject: [suse-multimedia-e] sis 7012 snd card driver HI is there any linux sound driver for SIS 7012 sound card? The chip is supported on ALSA 0.9.0 (as intel8x0 driver). On SuSE 7.3 there is only ALSA 0.5.x, so you'll need to upgrade the ALSA by yourself. And please beware that ALSA 0.5.x and 0.9.0 have no compatibility with each other... Takashi
