In past versions of openSuSE 11.# I was always able to beat the restricted mp3 problem. As a end user that seems normal. I have always gotten Amarok to work correctly and use it all the time. It would just work after loading building xine-lib/ui. Since Milestone 2 has come out that fails to fix the problem and causes Amarok to just rapid advance through the playlist. It seems as of Milestone 2 openSuSE has made even phonon or gstreamer void of playing mp3s. I built a version 2.2.2 of Amarok and it reports the reason it will not work is due to "phonon was built without MP3 support". If Amarok is not going to work correctly why is in available? Save the space on the DVD/CD. My suggestion is to offer DVD/CD that is for an end user that has end users applications that work. I have been using SuSE/openSuSE for over 10 years and it is becoming obvious why other distros are finding favor. -- 73 de Donn Washburn 307 Savoy Street Email:" n5xwb@comcast.net " Sugar Land, TX 77478 LL# 1.281.242.3256 Ham Callsign N5XWB HAMs : " n5xwb@arrl.net " VoIP via Gizmo: bmw_87kbike / via Skype: n5xwbg BMW MOA #: 4146 - Ambassador " http://counter.li.org " #279316 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-multimedia+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-multimedia+help@opensuse.org
