BTW, I have a Micro-Star motherboard with on board 82801DB AC'97 Audio Controller.
I'm not certain if you said what Suse version you have but... ( been on the road and it's not easy to follow specific threads that way) For a while I used the onboard chip w/ this computer and occassionally had that same problem it was as if it "forgot" what the sound card drivers where or where they were. First I must ask if you set the card up in yast or in the install , did you go to the "yast2 modules" or settings as they were sometimes called and set your card/chip up there? Under the hardware settings the sound chip has to be setup there first, or you will never get it to remember... Then, depending on your version of Suse, you should be certain you have all the updates applied... and THEN .. go to "packman" ( bookmark this like you will hear it a lot in future on this list and others ) www.links2linux.org ( select the german or English flag to change language settings as needed ) The packman section is where all the stuff you will ever need for multimedia is or will be once the guys have time to get it up <G> They do amazing jobs there , since it is not a paid site and the code is contributed ...( You can bookmark the page where the packman files are if you want to , but it's also fun to see what else they are doing) Packman is where you find the lastest and greatest stuff for most of the the less business oriented libraries, programs, and updates to multimedia, games and a whole lot else ... Hope it helps -- j -- nemo me impune lacessit
