The sound card is ---> Intel 82801AA AC'97 and it's on mother board itself, not sure through what mode?? Please let me know the difference between PCI and ISA... As far as cable is concerned I think I removed it sometimes back, but does it make a difference becuase in windows XP it works fine... Please reply. Thanks again for your support. I just installed SUSE Linux 10.0 on my system. But I am not able to configure sound (I configured through YAST), although when I click on test button I am able to hear the sound but when I play an audio cd I can't hear anything. The audio cd is an auto play and it shows me the time and menu of tracks in the audio cd on the media player (xmms and the default audio player).
Make sure you have an audio cable connected from your CD/DVD-ROM to your sound card.
