i know how to take the snapshot from a running xawtv, but that isn't what i want.
perhaps, an example of what you do wish to take picture would be more helpful? There is a screenshot app under the Kmenu ( dunno about gnome) that is called ksnapshot that works well for showing almost anything on the desktop... Kmenu ->utilities-> ksnapshot hope this helps, if not more info from you is required :)
sorry, this is my first time i'm writing to a mailing list. i have a webcam and i want to be able to take a snapshot from the cam (/dev/video0) and save it to a file. so i need either a program which does both or just get's me the snapshot from the cam. xawtv-remote allows to snapshot from a running xawtv process, but i want it without any process before. the program should open the device, take the snapshot and cloe the device. thats it. hope this informations was useful for you. thanks for your help David
