Hi Babu, I'm afraid I can't help you, but I can report something similar on other cards as well - YaST2 detects, configures, starts alsa nicely, and then, on reboot, it says "Restoring default settings" and solidly hangs the machine! :( Perhaps it's not the problem of your card, but some bug in alsa initialization? Good luck Eduard --- babu walad <vyav@yahoo.com> wrote:
Here's what I see in my modules.conf file regarding sound:
alias sound-slot-1 nvaudio
options snd-intel8x0 snd_ac97_clock=0 snd_enable=1 snd_index=0 options snd snd_cards_limit=1 snd_major=116
When I first installed with yast2 it configured the sound card with no problems.
However, when I boot my machine it HANGS at the point it says it is initializing the intel8x0 module.
I saw some email regarding this and linux and alsa but this was at least a year old posts.
Is anyone seeing a problem with intel8x0?
Any ideas how to fix this?
Thanks,
Babu
