I built a version 2.2.2 of Amarok and it reports the reason it will not work
I stopped using Amarok as main mp3-player and use now mpd / gmpc as my main mp3-player. It is worth to have a look at it. There are minor issues with gmpc too but all in all it fits better my needs. For editing albums I still use Amarok 1. AFAIR there is a backport for 11.2

Your posting interested me, so I installed mpd and gmpc, and I've edited the mpd.conf file to suit my setup, but it fails to build the database with the error sudo mpd --create-db listen: Failed to listen on *:6600: Address already in use Aborted I've checked in /etc/services and port 6600 is unassigned. Any suggestions?
