Ich versuche vlc-0.7.1-0.pm.1.src.rpm für SuSE 9.0 auf einer 8.1 zu installieren.

Das scheints bei Deiner gcc Version noch nicht zu geben. Schau mal ob das im SPEC-File gesetzt wird. Der gcc 3.3 kennt `-fno-unit-at-a-time'
