I have successfuly (so I think:-) installed linux (Suse 8.1) on my hp pavillion ze4125. No problems, had to boot with NOPCMCIA option on to skip that detection. Everything seems fine until it gets to the point of new hardware detection. It says detecting new hardware.... and that's where it freezes. I wonder if someone has experienced a similar problem and how it can be resolved. Thanks. Hi Ilya, a workaroud is to deactivate the "hwscan on boot"-option manually (/etc/init.d/rc5.d/S15hwscan) ... or with: insserv -R hwscan or in the runlevel-editor under yast. I'm not sure but I think this is the only way to handle your problem. Regards, Christian Ilya Sterin wrote:
