Hello! I had 9.3 on a Samsung P35 II 1600 and USB worked flawlessly. Now that I installed 10, I have some issues. Usually I have a USB-mouse attached, which works quite well, I then un-plug it and plug-in a USB-mass-storage device, e.g. a camera, or a usb-stick. Both worked with 9.3 without problems. Using 10, hotplugging does not work most of the times. I do not even get any messages in CTRL+ALT+F10. Does somebody have a hint for me, how to track down the problem. All of these devices work perfectly, if they are already plugged-in at boot. Another problem with USB is that after I plugged-in my Logitech USB-headset, suspend-to-disk does not work anymore. I hangs at unloading uhci_hcd. I can switch to a konsole and reboot though. I had a look at the suspend2disk-log, yet it did not report any problems. CTRL+ALT+F10 gives me some lines, I think the problem is: Oct 16 22:29:13 pc192s kernel: drivers/usb/input/hid-core.c: can't resubmit intr, 0000:00:1d.0-2/input0, status -19 Does anyone else have these kind of issues? I got nearly a same issue with hot-plug. After I've unplugged my USB-Mouse (MS-IntelliMouse) to use USB-Port for DigiCam, USB-Stick, Mouse will not recognized. Cause I don't know an other solution I am re-booting (re-logon does not solve) or I have to use an USB-Switch. :) I am also quite interessted to find a solution for this. -- regards Ruediger

Is HAL running (ps -aux | grep hal)? Try the new HAL update (run YOU). Danny

I tried the update and did not have any issues since then, so I hope the update solved the problem! Thanks for the hint! Sven

This is good to hear. I have 9.3 on several machines and I'm planning to upgrade to OpenSuSE 10.0 and working USB system is a definite must have for me. What is your general opinion, is it worth all the while to upgrage? I'm mostly interested in more recent kernel for my laptop and hoping that upgrade would solve my suspend to RAM problems. I could of course just compile a new kernel version on 9.3 to see if that helps. -teemu
