Good Morning, I have a Compaq Presario 3340 US, it has a AMD64 Athlon with 512 MB ram, 80GB hard drive, cd/dvd, and all the other default hardware. Installation of 9.3 in 32 mode goes with out a hitch. When I tried to install in 64 mode it goes through the base installation fine up to the point where it reboots and it supposed to set up the root password. It does not give me the option to set up the root password, it just requests the root password before it will let me do the rest of the installation. I have tried guessing at what the system might have set, but with no luck. I have tried the 64 mode installation a number of times and have not found any odd location or point which will correct this. I assume there is a way to install in 64 mode or am I constrained using 32 mode only. Thank you, Mike
