Hallo alle zusammen, ich habe an meinem Laptop ein Problem damit meine externe Firewire Platte mit Suse 9.1 (Standardinstallation) ans Laufen zu bekommen. Unter Knoppix 3.4 klappt es problemlos. Daher gehe ich davon aus, dass es auch irgendwie funzen muss. Googeln hat mir bisher auch nicht wirklich weiter geholfen. Wenn ich die Platte einhänge wird sie anscheinend erkannt. Ein less -F /var/log/messages ergibt auf jeden Fall folgendes: ---- schnipp ---- Sep 6 21:06:49 linux kernel: ohci1394: fw-host0: SelfID received, but NodeID invalid (probably new bus reset occurred): 0000FFC0 Sep 6 21:06:49 linux kernel: ieee1394: Error parsing configrom for node 0-00:1023 Sep 6 21:06:49 linux kernel: ieee1394: Node changed: 0-00:1023 -> 0-01:1023 Sep 6 21:06:55 linux kernel: ieee1394: Node resumed: ID:BUS[0-00:1023] GUID[0030e0f400204e49] Sep 6 21:06:55 linux kernel: scsi1 : SCSI emulation for IEEE-1394 SBP-2 Devices Sep 6 21:06:56 linux kernel: ieee1394: sbp2: Logged into SBP-2 device Sep 6 21:06:56 linux kernel: ieee1394: Node 0-00:1023: Max speed [S400] - Max payload [2048] Sep 6 21:06:56 linux kernel: Vendor: SAMSUNG Model: SP1604N Rev: TM10 Sep 6 21:06:56 linux kernel: Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 06 Sep 6 21:06:56 linux kernel: SCSI device sda: 312581808 512-byte hdwr sectors (160042 MB) Sep 6 21:06:56 linux kernel: sda: asking for cache data failed Sep 6 21:06:56 linux kernel: sda: assuming drive cache: write through Sep 6 21:06:56 linux /etc/hotplug/block.agent[6209]: try 1 while waiting for /block/sda's bus_id 1:0:0:0 Sep 6 21:06:57 linux /etc/hotplug/block.agent[6209]: try 2 while waiting for /block/sda's bus_id 1:0:0:0 Sep 6 21:06:58 linux /etc/hotplug/block.agent[6209]: try 3 while waiting for /block/sda's bus_id 1:0:0:0 Sep 6 21:06:59 linux /etc/hotplug/block.agent[6209]: try 4 while waiting for /block/sda's bus_id 1:0:0:0 Sep 6 21:07:00 linux /etc/hotplug/block.agent[6209]: try 5 while waiting for /block/sda's bus_id 1:0:0:0 Sep 6 21:07:01 linux /etc/hotplug/block.agent[6209]: new block device /block/sda Sep 6 21:07:30 linux kernel: sda:<3>ieee1394: sbp2: aborting sbp2 command Sep 6 21:07:30 linux kernel: Read (10) 00 12 a1 9e a8 00 00 08 00 Sep 6 21:08:00 linux kernel: ieee1394: sbp2: aborting sbp2 command Sep 6 21:08:00 linux kernel: Test Unit Ready 00 00 00 00 00 Sep 6 21:08:00 linux kernel: ieee1394: sbp2: aborting sbp2 command Sep 6 21:08:00 linux kernel: Read (10) 00 00 00 00 08 00 00 78 00 ---- schnapp ---- Nun habe ich zwar keine große Ahnung von Linux, aber die Platte (Samsung SP1604N) kann ich da lesen. Also gehe ich davon aus, dass die Platte erkannt ist. Ein paar Minuten nach dem Einschalten der Platte beschwert sich KDE mit folgendem Fenster und einem anderen fast gleichen: "der Ordner /media/ieee1394_sbp2-0030e0f400204e49-0-0p1 lässt sich nicht öffnen" Die Module ohci1394, ieee1394 und sbp2 sind zu sehen, wenn ich lsmod eingebe. Damit ist mein vollständiges Linux-Wissen zu diesem Thema angewandt. Ich weiß, dass ist nicht besonders viel. Falls also jemand ein gutes möglichst deutsches HowTo zu dem Thema kennt, das Problem selber schon hatte oder einfach mitfühlend ist: ich freue mich über jegliche Hilfe. Besten Dank schonmal, Stephan Berg

Hast Du die neuesten Updates über YOU gemacht? Das in etwa gleiche Problem gab es auch mit USB. Nach den Updates flutscht das nun. Gruß Manfred -- Samsung P30 Suse 9.1 Pro KDE 3.3

Hallo, melde mich erst spät wieder, da es mit dem Update wegen Verbindungsschwierigkeiten nicht sofort geklappt hat. Zwar habe ich schon öfter mal ein update durchgeführt, aber ich dachte es kann ja nicht schaden es nochmal zu probieren. Wie schon befürchtet hat es leider nichts gebracht. Trotzdem besten Dank für die Hilfe. Ein hwinfo bringt folgende Resultate in Zusammenhang mit Firewire: ---- schnipp ---- 28: PCI 201.2: 0c00 FireWire (IEEE 1394) (OHCI) [Created at pci.244] Unique ID: _p6J.FYVVb9QLEAF Parent ID: 6NW+.Wc+DHj8LOy0 SysFS ID: /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1e.0/0000:02:01.2 SysFS BusID: 0000:02:01.2 Hardware Class: firewire controller Model: "Dell PCI4451 IEEE-1394 Controller" Vendor: pci 0x104c "Texas Instruments" Device: pci 0x8027 "PCI4451 IEEE-1394 Controller" SubVendor: pci 0x1028 "Dell Computer Corporation" SubDevice: pci 0x00d4 Driver: "ohci1394" Memory Range: 0xf8fff000-0xf8fff7ff (rw,non-prefetchable) Memory Range: 0xf8ff8000-0xf8ffbfff (rw,non-prefetchable) IRQ: 11 (33050 events) Driver Info #0: Driver Status: ohci1394 is active Driver Activation Cmd: "modprobe ohci1394" Config Status: cfg=yes, avail=yes, need=no, active=unknown Attached to: #19 (PCI bridge) 53: SCSI 100.0: 10600 Disk [Created at manual.276] Unique ID: _q_W.9b9I54Mz244 Parent ID: _p6J.FYVVb9QLEAF SysFS ID: /block/sda SysFS BusID: 1:0:0:0 SysFS Device Link: /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1e.0/0000:02:01.2/fw-host0/0030 e0f400204e49/0030e0f400204e49-0/host1/1:0:0:0 Hardware Class: disk Model: "SAMSUNG SP1604N" Vendor: "SAMSUNG" Device: "SP1604N" Revision: "TM10" Driver: "sbp2", "sd" Device File: /dev/sda (/dev/sg0) Config Status: cfg=no, avail=no, need=no, active=unknown Attached to: #28 (FireWire (IEEE 1394)) 55: None 00.0: 11300 Partition [Created at manual.276] Unique ID: 1tKY.SE1wIdpsiiC Parent ID: _q_W.Fxp0d3BezAE SysFS ID: /block/sda/sda1 Hardware Class: partition Model: "Partition" Device: "Partition" Device File: /dev/by-path/ieee1394_sbp2-0030e0f400204e49-0-0p1 Device Files: /dev/sda1, /dev/by-path/ieee1394_sbp2-0030e0f400204e49-0-0p1, /d ev/by-id/1 Config Status: cfg=yes, avail=no, need=no, active=unknown 56: None 00.0: 11300 Partition [Created at manual.276] Unique ID: raLp.SE1wIdpsiiC Parent ID: _q_W.Fxp0d3BezAE SysFS ID: /block/sda/sda5 Hardware Class: partition Model: "Partition" Device: "Partition" Device File: /dev/by-path/ieee1394_sbp2-0030e0f4e0204e49-0-0p5 Device Files: /dev/sda5, /dev/by-path/ieee1394_sbp2-0030e0f4e0204e49-0-0p5, /d ev/by-id/20030e0f4e0204e49p5 Config Status: cfg=yes, avail=no, need=no, active=unknown 58: None 00.0: 11300 Partition [Created at manual.276] Unique ID: U2bc.SE1wIdpsiiC Parent ID: _q_W.Fxp0d3BezAE SysFS ID: /block/sda/sda2 Hardware Class: partition Model: "Partition" Device: "Partition" Device File: /dev/by-path/ieee1394_sbp2-0030e0f400204e49-0-0p2 Device Files: /dev/sda2, /dev/by-path/ieee1394_sbp2-0030e0f400204e49-0-0p2, /d ev/by-id/2 Config Status: cfg=yes, avail=no, need=no, active=unknown 59: SCSI 00.0: 10600 Disk [Created at manual.276] Unique ID: _q_W.SBcBCxJD+7E Parent ID: _p6J.FYVVb9QLEAF SysFS ID: /block/sda SysFS BusID: 0:0:0:0 SysFS Device Link: /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1e.0/0000:02:01.2/fw-host0/0030 e0f4e0204e49/0030e0f4e0204e49-0/host0/0:0:0:0 Hardware Class: disk Model: "Maxtor 6 Y080P0" Vendor: "Maxtor 6" Device: "Y080P0" Revision: "YAR4" Serial ID: "Y27B3V1E" Driver: "sbp2", "sd" Device File: /dev/sda (/dev/sg0) Geometry (Logical): CHS 9964/255/63 Size: 160086528 sectors a 512 bytes Config Status: cfg=new, avail=no, need=no, active=unknown Attached to: #28 (FireWire (IEEE 1394)) ---- schnapp ---- so richtig steige ich durch den Report nicht durch. Die Platte (Samsung) und der Firewire Controller sind erkannt. Bei den Partitionen wundert mich, dass nicht alle Partititionen ercheinen. Ich denke, dass ich alle Einträge welche mit Firewire zu tun haben von mir hier aufgelistet sind. Die Platte ist folgendermaßen partitioniert: ca. 40 GB ext2 Primär in einer Erweiterten sind: ca. 5 GB fat32 logisch ca. 60 GB fat32 logisch ca. 45GB fat32 logisch (Die Fat32 damit ich ohne Probleme unter W2k und Linux drauf lesen und schreiben kann) Auch verstehe ich nicht, warum unter der Nummer 59 irgendwas von Maxtor an Firewire angeschlossen ist. Nach allem was ich weiß habe ich kein Gerät der Marke in meinem Laptop (Dell Inspiron 8200) eigebaut. Falls jemand eine andere Idee hat, würds mich sehr freuen. Stephan
