Suse 9.1, firewire disk problem, and 3D und ACPI auf HP nx9005 AMD (English)
Hi this is essentially the same messege as before in english too.. I have instaled Suse 9.1 on my notebook (HP nx 9005 AMD Athlon 2000+) I need help to set the ACPI currectly. I managed to get the machine into suspend once, but it did not recover! any help is appreciated, especially on how to patch the DSDT tables, I have no knowladge in programing assembler or stuff like that ;-) Firewire used to work great! I have a maxtor external drive. up to suse 9.0 I would plug the firewire in then manually mount the disk, now with suse 9.1, the subfs system senses when the firewire cable is plugged in, and mounts the partitions automatically on /media/ieee_+"some digits....", however I can only access the third partition, which is ext3, I have another ext3 file system, and one fat32 which I used to access too, but not any more. There is also an NTFS partition, which I also do not see. The other problem is with the 3D acceleration (ATI IGP 320 or something..) but this is less urgent! Again, I would liker to get linux working properly on this machine, I would like to make a home page describign the installation soon.. Looking forward for ur replys, Adham
