ndiswrapper hangs on laptop running on battery
I need some advice on getting my laptop wlan running on battery power. I have a Dell D810 running SUSE 9.3. I am using ndiswrapper to get my wlan up and running. This works very well, but if I try to boot on battery power it just hangs when the ndsiwrapper kernel module is loaded. The ndiswrapper logs looks perfectly OK (== identical to what it logs when running on AC power), it just seems to never complete. I tried upgrading ndiswrapper to 1.4 (the version supplied with SuSE 9.3 was 1.1, but this made no difference. The logs are: ndiswrapper: module not supported by Novell, setting U taint flag. ndiswrapper version 1.4 loaded (preempt=no,smp=no) ndiswrapper: driver bcmwl5 (Broadcom,11/27/2004, 3.100.35.0) loaded ACPI: PCI interrupt 0000:03:03.0[A] -> GSI 5 (level, low) -> IRQ 5 ndiswrapper: using irq 5 (Here it hangs when running on battery, otherwise it continues:) wlan0: vendor: '' wlan0: ndiswrapper ethernet device 00:90:4b:ce:d3:71 using driver bcmwl5, 14E4:4324:1028:0003.5.conf wlan0: encryption modes supported: WEP; TKIP with WPA, WPA2, WPA2PSK; AES/CCMP with WPA, WPA2, WPA2PSK Note that if I connect the power temporarily during boot I can then remove it and the wlan connection continues to work. It is just during the ndiswrapper load I absolutely need AC power. Any advice, please? -- !++ ! Lennart Börjeson ! Partner, Developer ! Cinnober Financial Technology AB ! Industrigatan 2A !
