NVIDIA install disables CD-drive
Hello all, On a new laptop, I installed first Suse 8.2 Pro from the DVD. This worked fine. Next I installed NVIDIA, following the instructionsheet on http://www.suse.de/~sndirsch/nvidia-installer-HOWTO.html when doing the Xfree86 configuration with "sax2 -m 0=nvidia" I got an errormessage saying the video-card wasn't recognized. The situation now is: - I can boot into runlevel 3 (f.i. using failsafe) - I can reach runlevel 5, but KDE doesn't start. - The DVD/CD drive is not found. So I cannot boot from the CD. - I can start yast in textmode - I can ping IP-adresses I would like to start all over, installing SuSe 8.2 My question: - Can I undo the nvidia installation? - Can I mount the DVD/CD drive (doesn't work trough yast) Thanks, Hans Rasch
