I got exactly the same problem. Started that thread two days ago already. I have also tried several kernels without success. What BIOS version do you have. Perhaps the BIOS is not 100% APM compilant. Just a thought...

It is a winmodem. I haven't found a driver on the net yet. I would even write one as soon as I have some spare time, but I haven't found any specs either. Please tell me in case you find something. For now, I guess the easiest option would be a PCMCIA modem card...

Take it easy, we'll find a way. There is always a solution on Linux... :-) Oh, btw... this is a german list!
