Hello list - members , my I am new to your list , and wanting tu purchase a nice laptop (about 700MHz , min10Gb HD ) for mainly (star office , internet , networking, mp3 -playing , preferably an dvd , and infrarred supoort ) Please tell me , why would one prefer an Pentium III processor to a Celeron , because these days there are a lot of them in the market . I guess laptop processors are still diferent from desktop-p's so which criterias are there , and what could "problems " could I expect if buying an Celeron I am sorry the qwuestion is general , but the HOWTO's leave this open to me . I hope some people can help me out here , and probably as well hint at links (not commercial ones please ) for learnig more about laptop-hardware under linux . a general link for linux and laptops or linux on laptops etc. is http://www.mobilix.org The difference between an PIII and a Celeron is the amount of fast cashe memory.
