Sonntag, den 04.03.01 19:37 Hallo suse-laptop, any hints on how to get DRI working? XFree86 4.0.2, Kernel 2.2.18, SuSe 7.1 Load "glx" and Load "dri" in /etc/X11/XF86Config, DRI section reads Section DRI Mode 0666 EndSection and in .X.err I find something like drm disabling dri 'cause something like Version expected: 2.1.0, found 1.0.0 any hints? bye Lemmy -- // Mathias Homann // Tel.: +49-551-6338000, +49-171-8902823 // Fax : +49-551-6338009 // Internet: lemmy@eregion.de

Works fine here on my Inspiron 5000e. You should upgrade your Kernel to 2.4.x (with agpgart + r128 compiled as modules). Maybe recompilation of r128.o from the Xfree86-sources will also work. Ralf

What kind of chip is that in Your inspiron, how much mem? tried that already, with recompiling r128.o and so on... no avail... either it does not work (faLLback to MesaSoft) or it does not work (X crashes)... In the DRI bugtracker I found several people with more or less the same problems, all have a R128 Mobility LF (M3) with less than 16 MB ram... bye Lemmy -- PGP Public Key als empfangsbestaetigung erhaeltlich !! get my PGP public key by return receipt request... or finger mhomann@www.eregion.de
