Hello I am brand new to SuSE 9.3 . Before I start loading the OS I would like to know how to find out if anyone knows of a sata controller that has linux drivers? I knoticed that mine (SATA3112-150I or 150R) does not support linux. I want to use a sata hard drive for my primary drive. Thank you for your direction. Regards, I am brand new to SuSE 9.3 . Linux provides native SATA support for most S-ATA controllers, so most likely you would not require any additional proprietary drivers. -Dieter -- Dieter Klünter | Systemberatung http://www.dkluenter.de GPG Key ID:8EF7B6C6

I'm not sure, which controllers are particularly supported or not, most are. But be aware about using fakeraid on any of these controlers, because certain installation programs and dmraid don't support this feature properly, see my (yet unanswered) question on Amilo M3834, Fakeraid, Via SATA 6421, OpenSuSE 10.0 Daniel
