Konfigurations Problem HSF Winmodem auf HP omnibook xe 4500 mit SuSE 9.2
Liebe Liste Also hier das ganze nochmal in Deutsch. Als Auslandsdeutscher vergisst man manchmal das so eine Liste nur im deutschsprachigen Raum gelesen wird. Ich habe gerade meinen HP Omnibook xe 4500 Laptop von SuSE 9.0 - 9.2 geupgraded. Dabei habe ich grosse Probleme meinHSF Win Modem von Conexant neu zu konfigurieren. Ich habe es sowohl mit den Quellen und den RPM's fuer hsflinmodem versucht, vergebens. Bei dem kompelieren der Quellen fehlen einige Dateien fuer den Kernel, config.h und modversion.h Trotzdem scheint ein RPM von Yast angenommen worden zu sein denn HSFconfig laeuft reibungslos. Die Erstellung einer Internetverbindung klappt jedoch nicht und das Modem gibt keinen Laut von sich obwohl der Ton eingeschalted wurde. Das connection Log sieht wie folgt aus: SuSE Meta pppd (smpppd-ifcfg), Version 1.50 on linux. The modem is recognised as a "Hewlett-Packard Company M5457 AC'97 Modem Controller Configured as modem0" by YaST. It is however a hsf win modem by Conexant. For the previous versions of SuSE I had to recompile my kernel with the modem driver source code for "hsflinmodem-5.03.27". This does not work anymore as the files config.h and modversions.h are not in /usr/src/linux-2.6.8-24.11-obj/i386/default/include/linux and I cannot find them anywhere else either. Are they in another package I have to install? I have tried to link the two files with autoconf.h and version.h in the same directory respectively but this did not work. Are there precompiled hsf drivers for SuSE 9.2? I have also tried a RPM for SuSE 9.1 without sucess. I have followed the installation instructions of a Novel Technical Information Document "Manual Setup of HSF Linmodem Driver TIDSuSE44" For SuSE 9.0 but this did not work either. Das mit dem Ton muss noch nix heissen: Ich habe ein Smartlink-Softmodem Treiber installiert, mit dem mein Modem problemlos eine Verbindung aufbaut. Der Sound funktioniert allerdings überhaupt nicht. Du könntest die Funktion des Modems mal überprüfen indem du mit einem entsprechenden Terminalprogramm ein paar AT-Befehle absetzt und schaust, was zurück kommt. Ich habe mir dafür CuteComm von der kde-apps-Seite geholt. Das compilieren ging problemlos und das Teil ist simpel per GUI bedienbar. Gruß, Michael p.s. Bei mir gab es tatsächlich auch ein Problem: Ich hatte kein Zugriffsrecht auf die Schnittstelle (hier: /dev/ttySL0, Link auf /dev/pts/2). Die remote Addresse gehoern nicht zu meinem Anbieter (server). Diese Adresse sind wohl nur die Dummys, die von Yast als PLatzhalter für die späteren Adressen vorgegeben werden. Die Verbindung wartet noch auf eine Anforderung. Solange im Log keine weiteren Aktivitäten auftauchen, würde ich mal auf ein Problem im Routing oder beim DNS tippen. Vielleicht kein DNS eingetragen oder ein DNS, der im eigenen Netz liegt?

Dies ist der Status, den die PPP-Verbindung hat, BEVOR sie benutzt wird. Wenn Du "STARTMODE='onboot'" hast, müßte er beim ersten Paket, das über die Leitung soll, die Verbindung aufbauen, d.h. wählen. Wenn er das nicht tut, stimmt das Routing wohl nicht. Du solltest in Yast die Checkbox "Default Route" angeklickt haben, und Du musst eine Zeile wie 0.0.0.0 192.168.99.99 0.0.0.0 UG 0 0 0 modem0 im Output von "netstat -rn" haben.
