Hi, I have a Dell D800 (Centrino, nVidia GeForce4 4200 Go) and Suse 8.2 prof (Kernel 2.4.20-4), the native nVidia driver installed (works including 3D). Everything works fine (well, short battery time), but when I want to switch to an external monitor/beamer by pressing "Fn F8" my system crashes and I have to switch off (no reaction to any keys/mouse..)! My old Dell Inspiron 3800 with Suse 8.1 was working with a beamer. Is that a Kernel issue, a Bios issue (I have A02), a acpi caused error, the nVidia driver, my wrong XF86-config ? I am no Linux expert... Jede Hilfe ist willkommen. Aussserdem: Wie kann ich die Batteriezeit verlängern (unter Windows soll der Rechner 7 h laufen, ich schaffe noch nicht einmal die Hälfte).
