Hallo, bei mir laueft Suse 9.1 auf einem Acer TM 291LCi, eigentlich auch ganz gut. Problematisch ist wie wohl bei vielen die „ Suspend to disk“-Funktion. Anfangs sah es unproblematisch aus, das notebook swaped wie es soll, kommt auch wieder. Leider funktioniert die Interneteinwahl mit dem (eingebautem) Modem anschließend nicht mehr. Dies funktioniert erst wieder nach einem regulären Neustart, dann wieder problemlos. Ich habe die Liste durchgesehen, dazu leider nichts finden können. Installiert ist der Kernel 2.6.5-7.75-default. Vielleicht kann mir jemand weiterhelfen? Ich schicke mal die meldung vor und nach suspend-to-disk mit, vielleicht kann jemand etwas damit anfangen. YAST-Hardware-Info gibt aus: Smartlink Softmodem Treiber: slamr
Ich vermute mal, das wird so ein binary-only-Winmodem-Zeugs sein, das leider praktisch nicht reparierbar (im Bezug auf suspend) ist. Geht es, wenn du das Modul für dein Modem vor dem suspend entlädst und danach wieder lädst? Wenn ja, dann trage das Modul in "POWERSAVE_UNLOAD_MODULES_BEFORE_SUSPEND" ein und alles ist gut.

ok, versuche mal "slmodemd" in POWERSAVE_SUSPEND_RESTART_SERVICES in /etc/sysconfig/powersave/common einzufügen (in die Variable). Dann wird vor dem suspend ein "/etc/init.d/slmodemd stop" und nach dem resume ein "/etc/init.d/slmodemd start" gemacht. Dabei wird auch das Modul entladen und neu geladen. Wenn es danach geht, ist es gut. Wenn nicht, stehen die Chancen schlecht.

ich hoffe, du hälst mich jetzt für keinen Dummkopf, ich bin allerdings ziemlicher Linux-Neuling. Ich habe "slmodemd" in verschiedener Weise in "POWERSAVE_SUSPEND_RESTART_SERVICES" eingefügt. Vielleicht habe ich das nicht richtig bewerkstelligt, jedenfalls hat sic nichts getan. Ich habe es auf zwei verschiedene Weisen versucht. POWERSAVE_SUSPEND_RESTART_SERVICES="hotplug slmodemd " und POWERSAVE_SUSPEND_RESTART_SERVICES="hotplug" "slmodemd" scheint sich aber überhaupt nichts verändert zu haben; ich bin, wie gesagt, ziemlich neu bei linux, falls ich da an der syntax oder sonstwie etwas falsch eingegeben habe, würde ich mich freuen, wenn du mich korrigieren könntest. Ich habe die /var/log/messages am Ende nochmal eingefügt; hat sich das modem-modul denn überhaupt entladen?

Ansonsten versuche einfach mal (als root) vor dem suspend /etc/init.d/slmodemd stop und nach dem resume /etc/init.d/slmodemd start von Hand aufzurufen. da steht nichts von unload slmodemd oder etwas ähnliches; hotplug und ich glaube firewire wird entladen, wenn ich das richtig gedeutet habe.
Ansonsten versuche einfach mal (als root) vor dem suspend /etc/init.d/slmodemd stop und nach dem resume /etc/init.d/slmodemd start von Hand aufzurufen. Wenn es dann funktioniert,
ja, das funktioniert bestens; nach entladen des Modemmoduls wie von dir beschrieben funktioniert die Modemeinwahl nach dem Resume und anschließendem Starten des Modemmoduls von Hand einwandfrei.
dann bekommen wir das auch in deine Konfiguration rein :-)
das wäre schön; was muß ich dafür wohin schreiben? eine kleine hilfestellung wäre notwendig ;) --

Habe daraufhin noch einmal die Datei "/etc/sysconfig/powersave/common" angesehen; nachdem ich jetzt ein bißchen mich mit dieser Datei vertraut gemacht habe und weiß, wie ich korrekt einfügen muß, ist mir aufgefallen, dass ich "slmodemd" in die Zeile "POWERSAVE_STANDBY_RESTART_SERVICES" eingefügt hatte; Sorry. Habe das heute korrigiert und in die Zeile für "Suspend" eingefügt. Das Modem funktioniert seitdem auch nach dem Resume nach Suspend-to-disk einwandfrei. Vielen Dank. Gregor

Ok, ich werde das für zukünftige Versionen mal notieren, zumindest muss ein Absatz in die Dokumentation.
