That means that the version of cardservices (module ds) does not match the version of the cardmgr. But that does not matter, as long as it does not differ too much (major version). Here is does not matter at all. Just forget it.
Also, it fails to config/detect my pc-mcia card on my GERICOM Laptop.Thank your in advance for any hint :-) and here is part of my messages file: Aug 5 19:03:17 linux kernel: PCI: Assigned IRQ 9 for device 00:01.2 Aug 5 19:03:17 linux kernel: PCI: Sharing IRQ 9 with 00:01.3 Aug 5 19:03:17 linux kernel: usb-ohci.c: USB OHCI at membase 0xd0a04000, IRQ 9 Aug 5 19:03:17 linux kernel: usb-ohci.c: usb-00:01.2, PCI device 1039:7001 Aug 5 19:03:17 linux kernel: usb.c: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 1 Aug 5 19:03:17 linux kernel: hub.c: USB hub found Aug 5 19:03:17 linux kernel: hub.c: 3 ports detected Aug 5 19:03:17 linux kernel: PCI: Found IRQ 9 for device 00:01.3 Aug 5 19:03:17 linux kernel: PCI: Sharing IRQ 9 with 00:01.2 Aug 5 19:03:17 linux kernel: usb-ohci.c: USB OHCI at membase 0xd0a06000, IRQ 9 Aug 5 19:03:17 linux kernel: usb-ohci.c: usb-00:01.3, PCI device 1039:7001 Aug 5 19:03:17 linux kernel: usb.c: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 2 Aug 5 19:03:17 linux kernel: hub.c: USB hub found Aug 5 19:03:17 linux kernel: hub.c: 3 ports detected Aug 5 19:03:17 linux kernel: isapnp: Scanning for PnP cards... etug 5 19:03:17 linux kernel: isapnp: No Plug & Play device found Aug 5 19:03:18 linux rcpcmcia: /sbin/insmod /lib/modules/2.4.18-4GB/kernel/drivers/pcmcia/pcmcia_core.o Aug 5 19:03:18 linux kernel: Linux Kernel Card Services 3.1.22 Aug 5 19:03:18 linux kernel: options: [pci] [cardbus] [pm] Aug 5 19:03:18 linux rcpcmcia: /sbin/insmod /lib/modules/2.4.18-4GB/kernel/drivers/pcmcia/pcmcia_core.o Aug 5 19:03:18 linux rcpcmcia: /sbin/insmod /lib/modules/2.4.18-4GB/kernel/drivers/pcmcia/yenta_socket.o Aug 5 19:03:19 linux kernel: PCI: Assigned IRQ 11 for device 00:03.0 Aug 5 19:03:19 linux kernel: PCI: Sharing IRQ 11 with 00:01.4 Aug 5 19:03:19 linux kernel: Yenta IRQ list 00b8, PCI irq11 Aug 5 19:03:19 linux kernel: Socket status: 30000007 Aug 5 19:03:19 linux rcpcmcia: /sbin/insmod /lib/modules/2.4.18-4GB/kernel/drivers/pcmcia/pcmcia_core.o Aug 5 19:03:19 linux rcpcmcia: /sbin/insmod /lib/modules/2.4.18-4GB/kernel/drivers/pcmcia/ds.o Aug 5 19:03:19 linux cardmgr[821]: starting, version is 3.1.31 Aug 5 19:03:19 linux cardmgr[821]: modpath = /lib/modules/2.4.18-4GB/ Aug 5 19:03:19 linux cardmgr[821]: modsubdir = pcmcia Aug 5 19:03:19 linux cardmgr[821]: watching 1 sockets Aug 5 19:03:19 linux cardmgr[821]: Card Services release does not match Aug 5 19:03:19 linux kernel: cs: IO port probe 0x0c00-0x0cff: clean. cardmgr does not recognize that there is a card at all. :( Try external pcmcia (/etc/sysconfig/pcmcia: PCMCIA_SYSTEM). If that alone does not help, try module parameters for i82365 (e.g. poll_interval).

Which devices are 00:01.4 and 00:03.0? (lspci) Is 00:01.4 your NIC? Is hotplug running on your system? -- ciao, christian ----------------------------------------------------------------- ... wo kämen wir hin, wenn jeder sagte: "Wo kämen wir hin?" und niemand ginge, um mal zu schauen, wohin man käme, wenn man ginge. -----------------------------------------------------------------
