IT WORKS! GREAT! So one should put the ati-agp thing not ati_agp !! I
good. I'm always confused by this, so i put both intel-agp and intel_agp in ;-)
just gone through the thread in the mailing lisat entitled "SuSE 9.1 Probs" struggeling with my German to understand! would the patch there http://lists.suse.com/archive/suse-laptop/2004-Apr/0229.html help me!! do u recomend trying it?
Yes, that would probably help, although i have only tested it on intel and SIS chipsets. After applying this patch, don't forget to de-blacklist your AGP module (commenting it out in /etc/.../blacklist is enough).
If u need to check things for the powersaved I would be happy to "commit" my machine for tests!!
Oh, would be nice to hear from ati-agp users :-). Be careful with 3D, it has not been tested extensively and i believe (or i have dreamed of) that i have seen some memory corruption issue connected to 3d/suspend/ AGP (some processes suddenly segfaulting, data from disk cache corrupt until i forced a re-read from disk), but cannot reproduce it, so maybe it was just a cosmic particle hitting one of my RAM chips :-) Also, 3D does not work for me (intel centrino chipset) after resume until i restart the X server and i heard of radeon users whose machine crashes at suspend/resume after they used 3d (works fine without 3d). So just be careful and back up your valuable data before trying things out.
by the way, do u know how to git rid of the annoying subfs system? I want to mount my disks alone, but it does not let me?
pragmatic fix: cd /lib/modules/2.6.4-52-default/extra/ mv subfs.ko subfs.ko_SWITCHED_OFF and reboot :-) -- Stefan Seyfried
