Hi,
powesave -standby out the machine to standby mode (the standby light blinks slowly as in windows)
coming back from standby, by pressing the usuall power button, takes the machine completly down!
Any suggestions!! I tried this both with the X and without X.
there is documentation in /usr/share/doc/packages/powersave/. Please read README.suspend. If you have questions after that, please ask. Short: standby will not work. for suspend, you will have to blacklist your agp module.
suspend works fine with out X, but if I try it with the X, the machine gets crazy and each time it gets to reading DMS it reboots again, its a funnx reboot cycle!
blacklist your agp module after reading the documentation. To get access to the machine, either put "noresume" on the bootprompt or do a "failsave" boot once. This should fix it. -- Stefan Seyfried
