Hi Joe,
I've got a huge problem: I have an IBM T41 notebook with a 40G harddisk. I had XP and Mandrake 10 on it, and both systems booted and ran well. Then, i installed SuSE Linux 9.0 over the Mandrake distro, and since then, Win XP does not boot anymore: the XP startup logo appears for 2 seconds and then i get a bluescreen telling me STOP 0x000000ED - UNMOUNABLE_BOOT_VOLUME.
The following link should help you. http://www.ntfs.com/mbr-damaged.htm The Recovery Console will repair your MBR and you should be able to start into WinXP again. After you confirmed that you can reinstall GRUB again via the SuSE CD/DVD. Start with it and go into Repair Mode. There will be an option to fix GRUB. Maybe you can try this first, if it workes you will have saved some time. If you speak German there is another link for you: http://www.xp-tipps-tricks.de/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=88&page=1 Good luck, -- Sabine
