The w-lan-device doesn't run. There is a switch in the keyboard for the w-lan and in windows I can switch it on and off. But running linux, the switch has no effekt. The reaction after lapci and iwconfig is always the same.
No chance?

Hello Wolfgang, On my laptop I have also a switch in the keyboard that is used under w_xp, but under suse linux there is no need to use it for my laptop Medion MD41300. In my laptop I have a wireless card that was also not regcognised by suse 10.0 but in yast you can also search for the wireless card and for that you need also the output from the command hwinfo entered as root user. Did the Yast system found a wireless card on your system or have you entered one. Can you describe how the laptop is connected wireless and also wired. Is there a router /access point involved. Do you have a local network. The following links were for me very clear: http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Wireless_LANs_with_SuSE_Linux http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Using_an_ADSL_Router_in_SUSE_LINUX http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Collecting_Information_on_the_Network_Configurati... http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Ndiswrappern (use only as last possibility) You know that you never can have 2 active nic's -- Regards, Frans Leerink
