Hi Ben,
Hi Hal,
Seems we're done now, following address is available: http://mirrors.ustc.edu.cn/kde-applicationdata http://mirrors6.ustc.edu.cn/kde-applicationdata [ipv6] rsync://mirrors.ustc.edu.cn/kde-applicationdata rsync://mirrors6.ustc.edu.cn/kde-applicationdata [ipv6]
You can add our mirror into your mirror list.
Thanks for mirroring the application data. I have now added your mirror to the list. Please make sure the details listed at http://files.kde.org/extra/files-mirrors.html are correct. You should also find that your mirror is listed at http://files.kde.org/akademy/2010/akademy_2010_videos+slides.tgz.mirrorlist

Hi Hal,
Our server's ip address is 202.141.160.110(ipv4) and fe80::225:90ff:fe32:a676(ipv6), the same as the ip address we use to rsync kde mirror everyday.
Thanks for the information. You can rsync from rsync://rsync.files.kde.org/applicationdata Please call it files.kde.org or /kde-applicationdata and sync approximately twice a day.
For your IPv6 address, I added 2001:da8:d800:f001:225:90ff:fe32:a676. Can you please verify that is the right address?
Hao
Thanks for mirroring the application data.

Great to hear that.
It's about 100GB, will grower bigger probably.
If you provide the ip address of the server that will do the rsync, I will give it access and provide the rsync details.
Again, we are very pleased with your offer!

Hello Tom,
Sorry for the late response, I sincerely apologize for the delay. And yes, we'd like to mirror the in-app data, as we consider it is a great content. Could you please give us some mirroring specifications and requirements? I suppose we can set up the mirror in a few time after that.
Thanks, Hao

Hi,
I'm forwarding below message, it's a request for a mirror for in-app data. Due to the fact that we don't have a mirror in Asia, I was wondering if you would be interested in helping us.
Current in-app data mirrors: http://files.kde.org/extra/files-mirrors.html
It would be great if you can consider to mirror this tree of data as well.
Let me know,
Best,

Hi,
Traditionally, we have only used our mirror network for KDE Releases. But we now need help with Application data mirroring[1]. We are now serving that ourselves, but we can not deal with the amount anymore, so we are asking for help from mirrors.
The amount of data is currently 105GB, it will keep growing though.
If you want help KDE and provide a mirror (http & rsync are needed), please reply to sysadmin@kde.org with the ip-address which will be used to rsync from us and we will provide the further details.

[1] Application data is mostly data used within KDE applications. Like extra maps for Marble, updates for the maps KStars uses and stuff provided via KHotnewStuff, video's from the Akademy-conference, but also files we provide for Maemo and Necessitas. The data can now be seen at http://files-test.kde.org/
