Hi sorry for any inconvenience caused. I think i found my mistake. I synced one time with user root instead using the low priviliged user created for rsync. So rsync could not overwrite root's files. Now changed the ownership and syncing again. I think this will abolish my problems. Thanks for help. And yes I had to change --delete-after to --delete-before because i ran out of space. Will change back soon. regards, Paul On Saturday 2014-11-08 07:41, Lars Vogdt wrote:

Hi Paul
Sorry to hear about your troubles.

just mentioned, below files' dates are from my mirror. on http://mirror.opensuse.org/ everything seems ok. is anything wrong with my rsync command, see below, or the rsyncd/hotstuff-module?
rsync -rlpt rsync.opensuse.org::opensuse-hotstuff-320gb /srv/pub/opensuse/ --delete-before --delete-excluded --max-delete=4000 --timeout=1800 -hiv
I'm using --delete-after here, but you need additional space on you server for this. The benefit is that your clients can finish the download of old packages more reliable during the rsync.
This is rsync.opensuse.org, public rsync server of openSUSE.org, limited to 50 connections.
Please note that the server was down on Friday for a short period (~30min): the datacenter guys moved it to a new Rack space. If you synced during that time, the sync might stopped incomplete. Can you please sync again to make sure that the problem is elsewhere?
...and please tell us the time and your IP address during the sync.
With kind regards, Lars
