Hello Mates, first of all i would like to say thank you for all new participants in this Proejct. To start in the Project, you can add yourself in our Team Site: http://en.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE-Medical/Team. There you can add your Name and what you would like to do. For adding yourself it is needed to create an Userpage in the Wiki. If you haven't an Userpage, just visit my HowTo: http://lizards.opensuse.org/2009/07/02/howto-how- to-create-an-userpage/. If you would like to package for the Project, please send me an Mail with your OBS Name, so i add you as Project-Maintainer. So i'll give some first instruction. GOALS ======= We try to collect and update Software for doctor's practice and clinicals. As Orientation for Packaging we use: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_open_source_healthcare_software . After Packaging we try to create an openSUSE based Distribution using SUSEStudio. But first of all we try to package an Basic on Software. Packaging ========= I propose that we give an announcement on the opensuse-medical List, if we're beginning to package an Software. So everyone knows, that this Package is Work in Progress. We're building new Programs in our home:name Repository from openSUSE BuildService. If we have trouble with Packaging, we can consult the opensuse-packaging List. Then we install our Package local and run it. If all are o.k. we make an Link to our Repository medical/. This we can do through going in the OBS to the medical Repo and klick on "Link Package from another Project". Then we fill the first line with the Projects Name e.g. home:saigkill (in my Case) and fill in the second line the Packagename. So if you update an Package local in your home Repo, the medical Repo is updated too. The full URL is: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/medical/$OperatingSystem .. After adding the Package into our Repo, we add our Package in: * http://en.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE-Medical/Applications/Desktop (If this is an Desktop Software) * http://en.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE-Medical/Applications/Server (If this is an Server Software). After that we can Publish this into our "Medical News" http://en.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE-Medical/News.and we send an announcement to out List. I hope you find this short intro good. If you have Questions, just send me an Mail to this List. -- Sincerely yours Sascha Manns openSUSE Member openSUSE Ambassador openSUSE Marketing Team openSUSE Build Service Web: http://saschamanns.gulli.to Blog: http://saigkill.wordpress.com ClaimID: http://claimid.com/saigkill -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-medical+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-medical+help@opensuse.org
