Dermatology/Imaging/database
Hey Opensuse Medical List, i am just trying to help a friend setting up a skin clinic and we are researching OpenSource solutions at the moment. He already has a Practice Management System in place but the image processing feature is really simple and definitely not suitable for a dermatology branch. So what we need is basically a nice way of storing digital pictures, most likely jpegs, into a network database and correlate them with patient information. We had a look at DICOM software, which seemed to be really promising but we didnt really find a tool to convert jpegs into DICOM files and further to put patient information into this DICOM file too. DICOM together with a PACS would be a really good solution but i dont see an easy way for doctors to store the digital pictures from the camera on the PACS server. Do you guys have any idea if such a system is out there somewhere? If so then we would be very glad to put every new solutions we put together into then OpenSuse Medical Project. Check out David Clunie's Dicom3tools. It runs under Linux/Unix. It has a jpeg to dicom utility. http://www.dclunie.com/dicom3tools.html Sebastian -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-medical+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-medical+help@opensuse.org
