Hey Opensuse Medical List, i am just trying to help a friend setting up a skin clinic and we are researching OpenSource solutions at the moment. He already has a Practice Management System in place but the image processing feature is really simple and definitely not suitable for a dermatology branch. So what we need is basically a nice way of storing digital pictures, most likely jpegs, into a network database and correlate them with patient information. We had a look at DICOM software, which seemed to be really promising but we didnt really find a tool to convert jpegs into DICOM files and further to put patient information into this DICOM file too. DICOM together with a PACS would be a really good solution but i dont see an easy way for doctors to store the digital pictures from the camera on the PACS server. Do you guys have any idea if such a system is out there somewhere? If so then we would be very glad to put every new solutions we put together into then OpenSuse Medical Project.
