[opensuse-marketing] LinuxTag Booth Posters
Hey peepz, for the upcomming linuxtag we need a couple of booth posters to show people whats up on the counters and stuff like that. We need din A3 posters that explain that on this counter you can see this topic. Topics would be susestudio buildservice opensuse 11.1 And some A5 ones that describe the content of the promo dvd and that you can take it away for free. I would love some retro typographic ones [1] for the counters and some simple ones for the promo dvd's. Anyone willing to design them? Be creative :) Henne [1] Something like... http://fc04.deviantart.com/fs18/i/2007/216/3/1/Retro_Artist_Poster_by_mrgrap... http://media2.smashingmagazine.com/images/typo-posters/swed.jpg http://www.letman.com/project_items/letman_2_342_pingpongbeeld.jpg http://www.flickr.com/photos/gizo/1052243642/in/pool-63692150@N00 -- Henne Vogelsang, openSUSE. It looks rather good. A bit unconventional though - a little light on the green, and not using the official font - it probably just needs a little getting used to for conservatives like me. You know that jimmac's free implementation of the official opensuse font is available in svn? One thing hurts my eyes though. It's the first time I remember ever seeing Geeko *not* smiling. I think that should be changed, Geeko *always* has a lot of fun ;-) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

I had yesterday no internet and much time for the posters. I think i have finished. http://karl-tux-stadt.de/wallpaper/suse-retro.png http://karl-tux-stadt.de/wallpaper/studio-retro.png http://karl-tux-stadt.de/wallpaper/buildservie_retro.png

The problem is Henne wishes Retro-Look. The official font is to "modern" for this.

Look at the openSUSE 10.x Boxes it's the same chameleon only vektorized ;)

These do look good, very good. I do however agree with Martin - our geeko is a happy chap. Having the frown can insinuate that openSUSE is a bit of a pain/difficult/$NEGATIVE_COMMENT. That is the only thing I'd like to see changed, other than that great work! I don't want/need official stuff :)

I think it really does not matter. The over-all impression is important. Thank you again Sirko. Henne -- Henne Vogelsang, openSUSE. If it is vectorized, it should be a matter of moving just one curve node to make Geeko smiling :-) -- Best Regards / S pozdravom, Pavol RUSNAK SUSE LINUX, s.r.o Package Maintainer Lihovarska 1060/12 PGP 0xA6917144 19000 Praha 9, CR prusnak[at]suse.cz http://www.suse.cz -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

I've done a few posters for the studio guys last week. [1]
opensuse 11.1
I've updated the old posters as I've moved a bit forward with Fifth
Leg (the openSUSE headline font). Feel free to use those. [2]
