Re: [opensuse-marketing] 11.4 feature guide/product highlights is done, so is the Portal page!
The statement IMO is accurate. GRUB2 is not a full replacement today, and even if installed is a "chain loader," not a direct replacement. Tony On Sat, Mar 12, 2011 at 1:10 PM, Jos Poortvliet <jospoortvliet@gmail.com> wrote:

Jos, If you haven't seen the posting I just made to the Marketing List, an apparent late development is that GRUB2 is not part of 11.4 yet so needs to be purged from the Feature List if it's still there (I put it in there based on the GRUB2 Developers' comments).
That is late... We've touted it as an experimental feature... Meh. Zypper in grub2 offers it from the official repository, so it does seem there?!?

Hello dear ambassadors and marketing people!!!
The openSUSE 11.4 Product Highlights are done: http://en.opensuse.org/Product_highlights
And so is the portal page: http://en.opensuse.org/Portal:11.4
They can be translated! But not promoted yet ;-)
You can and SHOULD use the feature guide to create articles, blogs etcetera - you can use any screenshots and whatever text you need.
The announcement will tomorrow be send to the opensuse-announce mailinglist and a news.o.o article will go out. Henne and AJ will take care of that, they promised during the board/project meeting today :D
So, let's have a rockin' release and kick some ass!!!
Be sure to enjoy the launch parties: http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Launch_parties_11.4 And if there is none close by you, organize one! you only need a place with beer and coke, then you can invite people on your blog & twitter & create a page on the launch party wiki :D
If you need to present openSUSE 11.4 anytime soon, you can find a presentation here: http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Presentations#openSUSE_11.4
We will work on improving it of course.
Cheers, Jos

State of GRUB2 is that it is not yet integrated (or tested) with other tools, and there is a lot of them, starting with YaST Bootloader and all the scripts that are used by system installation, kernel updates etc. -- Regards, Rajko -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org
