[opensuse-marketing] promo dvd langage
Hello, I just noticed that there is no "HOWTO use it" on the promodvd card box. I'm also guilty as this I so often work in english, I sometime forget than not everybody can do :-(( Many people don't think to use the "F2 language" key at the boot menu. we should find a way to enforce it (warning message? longer boot waiting time?) I think we should think hardly at making as many langages as possible on the demo dvd, in France at least, having it only in english (even is french is called, it's only the keyboard) is not very good jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xgxog7_clip-l-ombre-et-la-lumiere-3-bad-pig... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGgv_ZFtV14 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

Well for regular DVD users I'm not so sure but it might indeed make sense to trim down the promo DVD in terms of available software a bit and add more languages instead. After all, our competition only offers a CD anyway, we have an edge no matter what we do. I've been thinking about adding some materials like manuals but also creative commons material (Blender movie?), presentations and marketingy stuff. However this does require someone to make the changes ;-) Cheers, Jos

I think it´s the best step to to it so, because in the countries, where our target market is (Germany, USA and France I think, right?) isn´t it a problem to download the DVD or a Live-CD and go to a friend (or an interested person) and show her or him what openSUSE is. IMHO the promo-DVDs makes only sense when you order many of them. They´re perfect for presentations. A good thing to say to the audience something like "Here, for everyone an openSUSE DVD with the latest version of our distro and, only for you, some vids, manuals and other cool promo stuff." thanks -- Kim Leyendecker (kimleyendecker@hotmail.de) openSUSE Ambassador / openSUSE Wiki Team DE HAVE A LOT OF FUN! http://www.opensuse.org | http://www.suse.de Have you tried SUSE Studio? Yes, indeed. But what we need is then those video's... ;-)

if we *know* the video is to be largely seen, I think we will find people to do it jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://pizzanetti.fr -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

Well, if we have good video's, they would end up on DVD's, believe me. So we know that :D

Another idea that one of my bosses just mentioned: Have a great first-user portal and use that as home page in our browsers.
