IMHO, every decision-making process should be as open and transparent as possible, in other words, if someone has an idea to improve some situations, he or she should offer a proposal as a draft first and wait for comments and questions from other members, and then after such an appropriate RFC phase, we should decide what is good (or better) for us.
If we don't have such a RFC phase for decision-making process and only a small handful of individuals would decide everything, project/team activities would be no longer *open and transparent*.
I know Sascha's ongoing contributions and efforts for openSUSE project very well and I'd like to say once again, I don't have any objection to his proposal. But I hope you can understand what I mean to say. ;-)

Yes, you're right. The -marketing channel is created in the CommunityWeek, and not deleted now. In my view it was logical that the "Marketing Team" uses the "#opensuse- marketing" Channel in IRC. But if you are raise objections we can discuss that.

I would like to second what Marcus has said here. Sascha I as I'm sure everyone else is not criticising your commitment or enthusiasm to the project, but there does seem to be a lack of general consensus. This is the first that I have heard of me becoming an Ambassador Lead; actually I never even knew there was such a thing. If someone is going to take up any form of position they should either apply or be asked if they would like the position.
At present my plate is very full not just with the usual day to day work and family dealings, but also a fair amount of other openSUSE related things. With all of these commitments I'm not sure how effective I would be at being a lead of any team.
I appreciate that sometimes the process can slow things down, but we are not necessarily going through corporate Novell processes but effectively creating our own. Personally I would like to see the heads/leads of teams especially in the marketing department chosen or at least nominated by the Board.
I am *NOT* trying to take anyone's thunder or saying that people's contributions are not welcome, far from it. What I am trying to say is let's do it properly and have an involved discussion and consensus by all about who and what is needed.

you're right, and i'm agreeing full with your comment. The problem was the following: In the Time where are the Ambassador Program was announced, i didn't understant the Goal of the new Subproject. One week ago i had phoned with an Fedora Ambassador, and after the talk, i was full with new ideas. In that Time, i recieved some Questions from other Ambassadors. Some of these Questions was not Germany related but European related. So i noticed, that we need an Leadership that knows the Needs from different Countrys. My Goal was not to profiling myself, just to serve the Project. I would like to make the workflow easier, and give the Ambassadors an Contactperson. So this was my Mistake, and i say "Excuse me please". From now on, i discuss new ideas on the List.

I think, this is was the Fedora-Ambassador to you said. In the Fedora-Project there are Leaders comes a new guy then he take it to the hand and guide him and try to incooperate him in the project.
In German saying "new sweep cleans good" that means new persons are not systemblind. She have new ideas and such things.
Marcus e.g. trys to create a group SUSE-Swiss a good idea I think. Other guys have other ideas. The leader are needed have to help him, makes contacts to persons the can help him and such things.
After the phonecall we had, we created a new ambassador list. An we posted this here and all have given her ideas. This was good for my site I had lot of fun there. It makes me happy to work as a team.
You did another needed things to remember the ambassadors to complete and/or create her usersite with contacts addresses. And only 2 guys have created on and the other?
There are a lot of things more to do witth the program last week I translated the ambassador page to german. In the english wiki it is linked from frontpage in german not why.
Another sample - there is a site called Geeko wants you or in german Geeeko braucht Dich. Why is there the ambassador programm not linked there?

Yes, i'm agreeing with you. But if i think about "Google Summer of Code", so all Students are coached by 3! Persons from Google. So the result is, that 3 Persons can't serv all Students, and they haven't an Overview about every Project. So i think if we would create an new Supportoptions, so i think an Ambassador for each Zone is needed. 6 Leaders are better than one. I can't know the Amarican Needs, and Zonker can't know the European or Worldwide Needs. Best Example is General Motors. They produced blind Automobiles for the German Market. But we know what happens :-) And last but not least, i haven't created the Group. Some Ambassadors had set their sphere of action as "OwnTown/Country" other had set "Country/Zone/Continent". I've just invited some of the "Zone/Continent"-Guys to serve in their choosen Area.

you should know what a project mentor in the GSoC is, there are more than 3!

Please note that I did not complain about the leadership itself, but the non-existent election process. As Sascha already replied on that I hope this is going to change in the future.
