There's this event FOSS.IN, probably the largest of it's kind in the country. It just released it's call for participation (http://foss.in/news/fossincfp-2009.html). The call for speakers/sponsors/delegates opened sometime this week. If interested in sponsoring, someone in authority might want to contact them (http://foss.in/contact) . I might be going as a delegate, but am not yet sure, as I may have exams. If anyone would come as a speaker, they will be accomodated, maybe even sponsored in some cases. If possible, do come (especially developers), even if only as a delegate[Registration fees for delegates: INR 500(Student), 600(Individual) & 2500(Corporate, i.e. you represent a company)]. INR 46 ~ US$ 1. There is also space for stalls. As far as I know, it's primary focus is coding and development, not use.
