[opensuse-marketing] More on openSUSE Trademark Guidelines
Hi all, Thanks for all the input and comments so far on the openSUSE Trademark Guidelines. As mentioned when announced, we don't believe that this is the final word on the guidelines - we expected feedback and to need to make changes to the guidelines. To continue the discussion, we've added some pages to the wiki for changes. We've put up the guidelines on the wiki here: http://en.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE_Trademark_Guidelines And a page for suggested changes here: http://en.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE_Trademark_Guidelines_v2 Finally, we also have a page to add use cases where the current guidelines may be either unclear or too restrictive. (Or, not restrictive enough...). If you have use cases / examples, please add here: http://en.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE_Trademark_Guidelines_use_cases Discussion is encouraged on the lists, but we can't guarantee it will be collated when we revise the guidelines - so please add to the wiki if there's something that needs to be changed. Thanks! I've added several questions about things that aren't clear for me. Is above page the right place to add my question ?

The following is not about the Guideline itself, but its operations. People cannot easily distinguish whether permissions are given or not for the use cases that are not automatically permitted. IMHO, we need easy-to-reference evidences or histry of what are permitted specially, or, some credits that indicate the use is specially permitted by Novell(or openSUSE Project?). If we don't have some way to distinguish whether special permissions are given or not, people can easily misunderstand that unrestricted use of openSUSE Marks are allowed. # Should I add this opinion to somewhere on the wiki ? For example: If someone uses openSUSE Marks with a special permission by Novell, (s)he has to add the credit "The openSUSE logo is a trademark of Novell. The use of the openSUSE logo in this {site, book, magazine, etc} is permitted by Novell." somewhere in his (or her) {site, book, magazine, etc}.
If we don't have some way to distinguish whether special permissions are given or not, people can easily misunderstand that unrestricted use of openSUSE Marks are allowed.

Yes.
Done. In addition, I think we had better concentrate the inputs for improvements of guidelines in a single center, I also copied the opinion by Cschum from "Talk:OpenSUSE Trademark Guidelines v2" and paste it to "OpenSUSE Trademark Guidelines use cases".
