[opensuse-marketing] Counter design
Why was the counter design suddenly changed? Now its actually unclear what the counter is for. People need to know what its about to click it. -- Koushik Kumar Nundy B.Tech, ECE Final year NIT Durgapur India. http://lug.nitdgp.ac.in http://kknundy.blogspot.com http://en.opensuse.org/ http://twitter.com/kknundy -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org
I was thinking it was just mine but it seems that.
Probably there was something wrong in the script that generates that image.

Hi,
IIRC jimmac and yaloki updated the theme to reflect the one used in 11.2
But there is no mention of openSUSE on the counter, except maybe, the gecko on the background. How will the people understand what it is for?
Regards,
Luiz

If placed next to the development version introduction, then there is no need for more text on the image itself. -- Regards, Rajko OpenSUSE Wiki Team: http://en.opensuse.org/Wiki_Team People of openSUSE: http://en.opensuse.org/People_of_openSUSE/About -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

What does that mean?
1) Counter is in my web browser visible after some scrolling that moves text in central part of the web page talking about released and development version out of sight, 2) It is time to move counter next to the text abut development version. It could be smaller, to fit there without destroying page layout, but it should be there, not at the right bottom of the page, out of sight. -- Regards, Rajko OpenSUSE Wiki Team: http://en.opensuse.org/Wiki_Team People of openSUSE: http://en.opensuse.org/People_of_openSUSE/About -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

You do not understand my point. Many people, mostly ambassadors, have the counters in their blogs/sites. What about them? -- Koushik Kumar Nundy -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

Once there was few counter layouts available, but on the other hand when adding counter, it is possible to add word or two before, next to it, or below counter. This approach solves problem with, for instance, alphabets that are written from right to left, or from top to bottom. You don't need counter for each imaginable locale in the world, one for all and Ambassadors add text according to local customs. -- Regards, Rajko OpenSUSE Wiki Team: http://en.opensuse.org/Wiki_Team People of openSUSE: http://en.opensuse.org/People_of_openSUSE/About -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org
