[opensuse-marketing] openSUSE Leap 15.3 kickoff
Hello team, I did have a talk with openSUSE Board this morning about the enrolment of Jump concept in Leap 15.3 and we all agreed that it would be quite handy to have a small kickoff session (1-2 hours based on attendance) on 4th of November let's say 17:30 CEST. 4th of November is the official Devel phase start for Leap 15.3. I'd like to have a short talk (perhaps supported with slides) about what to expect from 15.3 Release and present roadmap. And then have a coffee talk with whoever comes and whats to discuss e.g. contributions to Leap 15.3 or share any concerns. I have to say that I recently did not have very good experience with screensharing in meet.opensuse.org (low res compared to e.g. Teams) so I'd appreciate a different format, unless we can get that fixed. If we skip slides then meet.opensuse.org would be fine. Unless somebody has a better idea (mozilla hubs etc, big blue button ...) And that's also why I'm reaching out to you ;-) -- Lubos Kocman, Release Manager openSUSE Leap SUSE Software Solutions Germany GmbH Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg - Germany (HRB 36809, AG Nürnberg) Geschäftsführer: Felix Imendörffer

openSUSE Community To Have Kickoff Session for Leap 15.3 The openSUSE community is inviting package maintainers, contributors, open source developers and Leap 15.3 stakeholders to join the openSUSE community for a kickoff of Leap 15.3. The kickoff session starts Nov. 4 at 16:30 UTC on [https://meet.opensuse.org/LeapKickoff](https://meet.opensuse.org/LeapKickoff). The session will start with a short pre-recorded video updating attendees about the status of Jump 15.2.1, explaining what to expect from the Leap 15.3 release and presenting a roadmap forward for the release. “Let me share with you the next steps with Closing The Leap Gap and openSUSE Leap and what I've agreed upon today with openSUSE Board members,” wrote release manager Lubos Kocman in an email for developers on the [Factory mailing list](https://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-factory/2020-10/msg00289.html). “ I believe we have no issues with meeting Alpha/Beta criteria for Leap 15.3, unlike criteria used for Go/noGo for 15.2.1. We should have an initial setup done by the 4th of November to meet the roadmap. “I want to close one chapter so the openSUSE Release team can focus on the upcoming Leap release,” he wrote. The kickoff is meant to be an informative session followed by a friendly chat/social over a virtual coffee, tea or beer (BYOCTB). -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+owner@opensuse.org
