[opensuse-marketing] IRC meeting next week
Greetings openSUSE marketeers! :-) I'd like to have an IRC meeting next Tuesday at 15:00 UTC in the openSUSE-project channel on freenode. Does anyone have an objection to this time? I'd like to have as many opensuse-marketing participants involved as possible. I know that this is during Hack Week, but I'd like to start having regular meetings as soon as possible. Also, please send any items you'd like to include on the agenda. I'd like to have an IRC meeting next Tuesday at 15:00 UTC in the openSUSE-project channel on freenode. I guess Central America is UTC-06 9:00am at Nicaragua time ?? o.O

I think the status and the problems on promoting openSUSE in Latin America are similar to those in Japan/Asia. Not only in Latin American countries but also in other NON-English-Speaking countries, there are many people who are not good at English and need informations and documents in their native languages. I think this is an obstacle to spread openSUSE in NON-English-Speaking countries. So, I hope the item would be "Promote openSUSE in NON-English-Speaking countries" which includes the status in Latin America, Japan/Asia and so on. :-) Regards, -- _/_/_/ To be Happy! _/_/_/ _/_/ Satoru Matsumoto _/_/ _/ helios_reds@gmx.net _/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

Regards,
Exactly, same thing in Europe ;-) the other day we had some discussions about promoting openSUSE in the french speaking world and it came out that the french documentations are available only in english on Novell's site. In my opinion we need a team to translate openSUSE manuals in french , or to update the previous ones as openSUSE used to have french translated manuals . If an agenda is about to be created for this meeting, I'd like to add Helping Hands to the agenda, as I would like to move the project into full opensuse coverage. Since Helping Hands is about getting new users familiar with our distro and making it more appealing for them, I feel it is an appropriate topic for the Marketing Team to tackle. Any thoughts? It's indeed an appropriate topic for the Marketing Team meeting from my perspective. The idea of extending Helping Hands to topics beyond GNOME sounds pretty good to me! Best, Rupert

I like the idea of having meetings for the marketing team, so this sounds like a good idea to me. Although at that time (which is 10 am for me), I won't be able to make the meeting (in school). -- Kevin "Yo" Dupuy - openSUSE Member Public Mail: <kevin.dupuy@opensuse.org> Meet Bob Barr - Libertarian for President - <http://www.BobBarr2008.com/> -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

As far as agenda goes, I'd like to see some discussion on how local user groups (whether openSUSE specific or Linux in general) are working to help marketing of openSUSE, and what can be done to help improve that if needs be. Also, perhaps an openSUSE-specific podcasts, aimed at new users to talk about tips for using openSUSE, and maybe like a news segment where any major openSUSE news can be discussed (and translated into something new users can understand)? -- Kevin "Yo" Dupuy - openSUSE Member Public Mail: <kevin.dupuy@opensuse.org> Meet Bob Barr - Libertarian for President - <http://www.BobBarr2008.com/> -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org
