Hi, do you want to make a new translation? Which language would that be? I prepared an OpenOffice Calc document, where you can translate from english to your mothers tongue. You will notice that the announcement part of the website still remains english. It is planned that localization teams can edit the announcements and translate them into their own language. The technical requirements are already implemented. We just have to think of a way to organize that translations will updated as soon as the leading language (e.g. english) is updated. Any suggestions welcome. Greets, Andreas -- Skype: andreas.demmer ICQ: 103 924 771 http://www.andreas-demmer.de

Do you mean coordinators _only_ listed in 'Localization Team' http://en.opensuse.org/Localization_Team will have the privilege and be responsible to translate & update them ? I mean, if someone, who has an account for Novell/openSUSE but is not a coordinator of the Localization Team, find that the front page in their tongue is not up-to-date, he(or she) cannot translate & update them by himself(herself) and should contact to their coordinator of the Localization Team first ? -- _/_/_/ To be Happy! _/_/_/ _/_/ Satoru Matsumoto _/_/ _/ helios_reds@gmx.net _/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

Some parts of the page can be edited directly, some cannot. So whenever you you have suggestions NOT related to the announcements, please contact me or Robert Lihm and we can update the translation. The announcements are editable via a WYSIWYG editor. Until now, the access is protected by a propritary user list but will be based on iChain soon. So everyone with an Novell account _could_ change the announcements when he was granted the permission. The idea is that the announcements should be consistent through all languages (except local events and the like). So we currently think of an "notify chain", so whenever the leading translation is changed, the translators will be notified to upgrade their language too. To whom will be given access permissions will soon be discussed internally and on the lists. But I am confident that this will be a very open and transparent process. That'll be nice ! :-) Without notifications, translators have to check if the leading translation is updated or not everyday. I think many translators are volunteers and have their own job, so that thay don't have enough time to check it everyday. Brazilian Portuguese, but I can wait until the process necessary is defined ;-) Regards, Luiz Fernando -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org
