announcement of new spanish forum
Hello listmates! Since April 2021 the official Spanish forum for openSUSE (forosuse.org since was outside openSUSE infra) was offline due technichal issues (vBulletin version, PHP, hosting issues, etc) The current moderators were waiting since then for the Admin to fix this issues (also we provided help or support with that), but we didn't get news about the process. So we decided to ask help and a place in forums.o.o infra. Malcom Lewis and Jim Henderson have done the best and now, we have a spanish forum inside openSUSE infra, great!! :) (but still is not available for everyone) I want to ask if a text as anouncement (available in etherpad.o.o¹) of the new "release" of spanish forum inside forums.o.o written by mods can be published in news.o.o? But, we don't have a date which spanish forum will be open for everyone. If the text fits in news.o.o when we have the final date I can share here to publish the text... Kind regards. Absolutely. I think it would be great. We can publish it tomorrow if you want. Is there a headline you had in mind? v/r Doug

Hey Doug!! I think we must wait to get published until forum admin give us a final date to make it publicly available for everyone. And as headline, don't know if goes for something "bored" (but clear) like: Nuevo foro en español de openSUSE or maybe something more funny :) Greetings! -- ------------------- GPG Key: 0xcc742e8dc9b7e22a Fingerprint = 6FE2 3B1F AAC8 E5B7 63EA 88A9 CC74 2E8D C9B7 E22A Aprende a proteger la privacidad de tu correo: https://emailselfdefense.fsf.org/es/ Mi blog sobre openSUSE, GNU/Linux y software libre: https://victorhckinthefreeworld.com/ Herramientas para proteger tu privacidad https://victorhck.gitlab.io/privacytools-es/

Sure, that sounds fine. If you want to clone https://github.com/openSUSE/news-o-o add the article and submit it when it is ready, I can merge. Can you put the translation on https://github.com/openSUSE/newscom. Or just let me know and I can take the info from the etherpad and post. Would just need the español link in the etherpad.
And as headline, don't know if goes for something "bored" (but clear) like: Nuevo foro en español de openSUSE
I think it's pretty straight to the point and is probably the best headline. v/r Doug

After translate forum GUI to Spanish, I think that the deadline to be public is closer! :) Would you mind if in the same post for news.o.o would be published in Spanish and English at the same time in the same post? 2 sections and one in Spanish and one in Eglish, or just only in English? Reading https://news.opensuse.org/2021/03/10/a-message-to-the-opensuse-community/, it doesn't mention anywhere that there is an effort to have other languages in a different location and the reality is, like you said, meant for an audience that is Spanish speaking, so I'm fine with having two sections for this article. v/r Doug

I'm not sure what the issues might be. It's not showing a preview as it should on https://news-o-o-preview.netlify.app/ The actions on git show no failures. It might take a moment to figure this out. v/r Doug
