[opensuse-marketing] RE: [opensuse-testing] Free Box to Testers a Dead Tradition?

Since I saw no notice that those who wish would receive as after prior releases, I tried replying as before, as if I had missed the notice. That email bounced. Then I tried similar addresses, and they bounced too. Those that bounced:
rplewe@suse.de (that used for 11.1) rplewe@opensuse.org rplewe@novell.com
I guess whoever managed the previous giveaways was one of the budget cut casualties?
I wanted to ask also. No box for contributors this release? -- S pozdravom / Best regards, Rasto -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

I wanted to ask also. No box for contributors this release? Afaik there will be contributor boxes again ;-) But as the boxes meanwhile are fully outsourced to open-slx, http://open- slx.com we had to do create new processes etc. but contributor boxes meanwhile are close.

I always loved receiving those boxes, but I would say that with all these new project openness offering a box to every single contributor would cost lots of money (box plus shipping). Currently there are 369 openSUSE members meaning that all 369 contributed somehow and thus are strong candidates to a free box. Just a matter of doing some math to estimate how much that would cost to Novell/openSUSE. I once received a box with a letter thanking for my effort as a translator signed by Karl and Michl - all letters with original signatures (not printed ones). I truly felt flattered by that action. -- Regards, Carlos Goncalves -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org
Oh yes and since poor Novell had to fire so many people and save on
everything to pay those poor CEOs measly couple of millions of
bonuses, poor CEOs, what will they live for now? If i had millions of
bonuses i wouldn't last even a month, thank god they get all the money
while the company is strugling to survive...
Regarding the boxes, i don't mind getting nothing, for christ sake, we
get free infrastructure, free servers to download from, forums where
we can complain (oh yes, i recently lost my /home partition due to
some weird circumstances) and you would still want a box? How often
would you use it? What would be the difference between that one and a
downloaded box? You wouldn't hang that box on the wall to show
everyone that you contributed would you ;)?? NUFF SAID
