[opensuse-marketing] regular Factory news?
Hi, I was wondering how to keep spreading the word about Factory. If we'd generate a diff of the package changelogs between the published snapshots, would it make sense resp would anyone be interested in working that up and blog on lizards or make posts to news.o.o if there are noteworthy changes? cu Ludwig -- (o_ Ludwig Nussel //\ V_/_ http://www.suse.de/ SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+owner@opensuse.org

On the one hand, it could be argued that news.o.o is not the place for that since it's not really news, just the natural flow of Factory. On the other hand, we are publishing a serial about console tricks and planning that "app of the week" one. So I'm all for having our equivalent to KDE's Commit-Digest [1] at news.o.o. Highlighting not only the result but also the work done. I mean, not only like in "we have this new version of X" but also like in "teams A and B are working together in staging project J in order to make Y available soon". Cheers. Huh? It could be argued but only if you want to make a really stupid argument ;-)

You seem to misunderstand what news.o.o is about. It's a blog about all things openSUSE. It's not limited to a specific topic, never has been, never will be. We're a way to diverse community for that.
So I'm all for having our equivalent to KDE's Commit-Digest [1]
That's a nice idea. Are you going to do that? If yes the News Team is more than willing to help you with the nitty gritty details! :-) Henne -- Henne Vogelsang http://www.opensuse.org Everybody has a plan, until they get hit. - Mike Tyson -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+owner@opensuse.org

I just posted this automatically created mail to the Factory list: http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-factory/2014-08/msg00224.html Obviously the raw changelog data is not suitable for any news or blog post. So someone would have to check if there's noteworthy news inside at all and summarize the technical information in a nice text. cu Ludwig -- (o_ Ludwig Nussel //\ V_/_ http://www.suse.de/ SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+owner@opensuse.org
