Hello OpenSUSE-Team,
The 14th LinuxDay in Dornbirn/Austria will take place on Nov. 24th 2012.
We are seeking proposals for lectures (german). Interested speakers are invited to submit their proposals until Sep. 23rd. Details can be found here: http://www.linuxday.at/call-for-papers-2012
We are also interested in an openSUSE both. Ambassadors who want to contribute, please contact papers@linuxday.at!
If none of the german speaking Ambassador finds the time to come to Dornbirn, which unfortunately happend last year, we would at least like to have some 12.2 DVD's to give away on LinuxDay (if that is possible).
Greetings from Austria, Xela

Hi Geekos, as 12.2 is released now, I would like to remind you of LinuxDay in Austria on Nov. 24th. (See http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-marketing/2012-07/msg00000.html)
Until now we didn't get feedback from OpenSUSE team members. Actually no one contacted us and none of the Ambassadors I wrote an email to answered.
It is not to late yet, the Call for Papers is open until Sep. 23rd! http://www.linuxday.at/call-for-papers-2012
Another request: We would like to have some install DVDs to give away on LinuxDay, but on http://software.opensuse.org/promodvd DVDs can only be ordered in package sizes of 100. That's way too much for us. Ten or so would be fine.
Greetings, Xela

As a non-German speaking Austrian resident, that puts me out (not that I really have much to contribute for a paper).

I can't speak for the Ambassadors, but... not many of the general team listen-in on the Marketing ML. You might simply be missing the target demographic. Since this Linux day is targetted at the German speaking market, have you posted to the opensuse-de ML?

Agreed. Or better yet to post the message to -project ML. Not all presentations are marketing-related and not all technical folks watch the Marketing ML. Widest net available is on -project.
But we, in marketing, must do a better job of spreading the word to the rest of our community on behalf of such requestors. We can't always expect an outsider to know where to go in our Project to reach the right people.

I didn't expect a "User to User support" list to be the right place. Last year I got the information that most ambassadors are subscribed to the marketing list, but that info might be outdated.
Where is the right place (list) for LUGs to contact OpenSUSE for requests like ours (e.g. a booth on a conference)?
To come back to the DVDs: is there a possibiliy to get LESS than 100? (At least for the DVD request I hope to be at the right place ;) )

So it seems, there is no way to get a smaller package of promo DVDs. At least, nobody could give a hint. What a pity.
Greetings, Xela
Hi Xela,
I am sure you could ask some local ambassadors or if you can burn them yourselves, that is what we used to do at our colleges sometimes.
Hope that helps
Regards Manu

I could send you some as soon as I get them, how many do you want to have?
