[opensuse-marketing] User Survey
One thing this KDE discussion brings up is this: It's been a long time since we've had a user survey. The previous survey can be found here: http://files.opensuse.org/opensuse/en/e/ec/Survey_openSUSE110.pdf Any suggestions to modify some of the questions, add new ones, get rid of old ones? (i.e., is it relevant or not to ask "why do you use a dual-boot system"?) Please get me suggestions by end of next week (August 7) Typically we do these infrequently after releases, but I think we should probably be doing them at least every 12 months, which means we're soon overdue. I'm not sure now is a good time. 11.1 is already severely outdated and was from the beginning of below average quality. What can we learn from it now?

I'd be curious to know: * How long the people have been using GNU/Linux in general (not just openSUSE) * Whether they use a localized version or not (only if English is not the person's first language) * Maybe a question about preferred web browser (FF, Konq, Opera, Epiphany, Miro, Arora, Google Chrome) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

Well, if you took the survey, we could get your opinion of the quality of 11.1... But if you look at the survey, most of it is not about the specific release -- things like "what kind of development do you do," "do you contribute to openSUSE," etc. are relevant at all times.

Thought of another thing. I'm also dying to know what people use for mail (KMail, Evolution, Thunderbird, text based, web/browser based, other) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org
Hello, there is my suggestions: * Do you use or test the Milestone / Release Candidate openSUSE versions? * Do you report a bug when your app, system, fail? * Do you use a Wiki to search solutions to yours problems? * Do you known what's the Factory openSUSE version? These surveys are ineffective and skewed toward those of us who actually pay attention to the openSUSE community, which I imagine most of our users do not, so I'm not a big fan of end-user focused surveys unless we have a way of contacting normal users who don't visit openSUSE.org daily... -- Kevin "Yeaux" Dupuy openSUSE Project Member -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org
