Just a quick note that I've updated the Sneak Peek draft page for 11.2, hopefully we can start collecting ideas now and not end up in the situation we did last year where we rushed out a few articles days before the launch. http://en.opensuse.org/Sneak_Peeks Included on the page is six proposed articles, each with proposed release times. Feel free to tweak around. All comments, concerns, questions and restraining orders welcome. -- Kevin "Yeaux" Dupuy openSUSE Project Member www.twitter.com/KevinDupuy -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

Just a note that I'll be working on the KDE 4 article this weekend. My suggestion is to scrap the "Installation and System Administration Improvements" one as there probably won't be enough to write there (though feel free if there are any extra ideas), and instead do an article on the YaST and package management improvements -- since there have been quite a few. I would volunteer to do that article but I start at University from tomorrow... hopefully I can at least get the KDE article ready though. I also do really highly recommend trying to keep up the developer interviews in the sneak peeks articles (with as good quesitons as possible). openSUSE is unique because of the sheer contributions that it makes to the FLOSS desktop on a daily basis. We should be highlighting this. Also, people within the particular community (GNOME, KDE) will be more pushed to read an article if they see a recognisable name. Finally, with the right questions (this did always take me some time, but I think it's worth spending quite a bit thinking about them) the developers provide some excellent insight. Hi Guys, I just registered as an Ambassador, after realizing that I have been doing most of the work without the title ;) I, with a help of a friend, designed our local Suse Linux User Group (Singapore) Logo, and a couple of Leaflets (or Flyers), plus last week I finalized some business cards templates. All this in order to be ready for the next Launch, our first in Singapore. I have some questions regarding the marketing material: Is there a plan to create a page only for that and link it to the Resource section in the Marketing Team page? (IMHO) the Artwork/Miscellaneous page is too generic and really does not apply to "event marketing" in particular, and I would like to upload the material I have. What's the best way to upload the files? I plan to upload them as .png and .xcf or encapsulated .zip for further manipulation. BTW, I would need some banners for the Launch...got any? Thanks Again. It's a wiki, there is no "plan" :-) If we have enough resources to justify a page, then feel free to start one! A gentle reminder: This is an open project. Feel free to dig in and do things you think need to be done. (Within reason, of course...)

OK

I know .png is easy to upload. Not so sure about the other formats.

Web banners or physical ones? We don't have a large supply of physical banners, unfortunately. Maybe it should be called "Base system" or something similar instead. 11.2 has some very interesting - and highly marketable - new features that ideally should be advertised, like: * -desktop kernel * hybrid isos (live usb) * ext4 as default * webyast (techpreview) * zypper dup from 11.1 officially supported (?) * zypp aria2c stuff * yast printer and partitioner improvements -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

I'm hoping to publish the KDE article at some point this week -- hopefully Tuesday or Wed, as soon as I get the answers from Lunak and the video from Javier. Any chance of putting this on the wiki or in something like Gist so others can contribute / look at before publication? Thanks! Sure, I've put this up at http://en.opensuse.org/Sneak_Peeks/KDE_Draft The formatting will be a little off in the wiki, but the text should all be there. Please feel free to make any suggestions by editing that article.
