Basically you've to make some choices: 1) full or light version (see the full/light templates, example for light is e.g. chinese or hungarian) 2) template-only or translation-tool for translation The translation-tool is able to replace predefined strings (e.g. Announcements --> Annonces ) and can be configured with a simple text file. The URL of the marathi translation should be for now: http://en.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE_Weekly_News/$NR/Marathi $NR the number of the issue. For the main newsletter its: http://en.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE_Weekly_News/59 Now you can start e.g. with issue 59 to setup your workflow. Feel free to ask anything you need to know. All the states in India have their own language. Hindi is used in most states and is the national language too. Marathi is quite similar to
Hindi.
They have some common words and use the same script (called Devanagari).
I will look into the details you have sent me. I am a college going student, so, let me check the workload out first. Translating the entire newsletter alone can be quite a big task. I will certainly try and finish creating the basic template in a couple of days.

If you have a wiki account, you can just edit it directly. Put in a link/short note or an prepared article. All submissions are welcome - we're not google, so we don't notice all interesting stuff ;) .

We've created a tool to make translating a bit easier:

The tool is able to import the raw English newsletter code and
translate
predefined strings (e.g. headings or static content) into the
desired
language. The strings are prepared in a simple .ini-File.
6) First steps ================
You could grab the Newsletter template (see http://en.opensuse.org/OpenSUSE_Weekly_News/Translations) and start creating an localized template. Next step could be the .ini-File for the Translation-tool. This can easily be done if you compair the English template with your newly created localized template. Then you can grab the latest released issue and start translating.
