[opensuse-marketing] Geecko on Google+?
Hello peers! Because of the situation, that Google+ doesn´t allow companies and projects to be part of G+ so far, we might could though be part of it. *The idea* openSUSE´s (and SUSE´s as well) mascot is Geecko. Why not creating a profile for Geecko and let him spread the word out about our project until Google allows companies and projects to join in? We also could do this with Dister, the SUSE Studio mascot if necessary. *Why?* Google+ seems to become a very important platform and it´s included in so much websites so far, so I think, we will have fun with Google+ a very long time. Due to the issue, that Google doesn´t allow us to join in as a project, we have to promote openSUSE over our personal accounts. This might work as well, but it seems a bit unprofessional. So, let Geecko to the work. The crowd will accept it as a marketing gag. *Who?* That´s the question! I´m looking at Bryen for doing it. If you don´t want, we might should search an other volunteer? what do you think? -- Kim Leyendecker (kdl@k-dl.de.vu) openSUSE Ambassador, openSUSE Wiki Team DE HAVE A LOT OF FUN! http://www.opensuse.org Have you tried SUSE Studio? Cool idea, but AFAIK Google removes non-real persons (or obvious fake persons). bye adrian -- Adrian Schroeter SUSE Linux Products GmbH email: adrian@suse.de -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

They should update their article. ;) I agree with Adrian, it's right now not possible for openSUSE to appear on Google+, Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, Program Manager openSUSE aj@{suse.com,opensuse.org} Twitter/Identica: jaegerandi SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GF: Jeff Hawn, Jennifer Guild, Felix Imendörffer, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-marketing+help@opensuse.org

Well, okay... Another question: Will news.o.o get an G+ share button? And if so, when? I found this after quick googling: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/google-plus-share-button/ Kim -- Kim Leyendecker (kdl@k-dl.de.vu) openSUSE Ambassador, openSUSE Wiki Team DE HAVE A LOT OF FUN! http://www.opensuse.org Have you tried SUSE Studio?
